Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a fresh piercing, and we hope it brings you joy for years to come, highlighting your individuality and unique style.
To ensure smooth healing without complications, the Linka Tattoo team has prepared a set of aftercare guidelines. Following these will greatly increase the success of your piercing’s healing process!
If you have any questions or experience any issues during healing, don’t hesitate to contact us — we’re here to help!
*Important:
The price of your piercing includes a mandatory follow-up check two weeks after the procedure. We strongly recommend you attend this appointment so your artist can assess the healing process and provide any necessary additional advice.
What You’ll Need During the Healing Process:
1. Cotton pads or lint-free wipes
2. Cotton swabs
3. Saline solution / Aqualor / Furacilin
4. Miramistin (antiseptic)
The initial healing period (when the piercing stops discharging and no longer causes discomfort) can vary depending on the type of piercing. You’ll find approximate healing times at the end of this guide.
The initial healing is considered complete when:
1. The piercing causes no discomfort
2. There is no discharge from the piercing
3. There is no redness around the area
4. There are no unpleasant or painful sensations
Note: If the estimated healing time has passed but symptoms persist, please contact us — we’ll guide you on how to care for the piercing. If discomfort or inflammation occurs at any point, reach out to us immediately for support in promoting faster healing.
During the initial healing phase, clean your piercing 2–3 times per day.
Gently remove any visible discharge using a cotton swab soaked in saline/furacilin solution or rinse the area using a gentle stream of Aqualor for a few seconds. If using saline solution, rinse it off afterward with boiled water.
If scabs form, soften them gently without traumatizing the area. Soak a cotton pad with solution and apply it to the piercing site (on both sides simultaneously if possible, or one side at a time).
What to avoid while healing:
- Do not sleep on the piercing
- Do not rotate or move the jewelry
- Avoid any trauma or pressure to the area
- Avoid steaming the area for the first 3 weeks
You should take care of the piercing throughout the entire initial healing period (more details on healing times are provided further down this page), for at least 4 weeks from the day of the piercing.
Healing period restrictions:For the first 3 days:
- Avoid intense physical activity that raises blood pressure
- Avoid situations that cause heavy sweating
For the first 3 weeks:
- No hot water soaking — take warm showers only
- Avoid alcohol, energy drinks, coffee, or stimulants
- No saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, open water swimming, or gym workouts
(
Especially important for nipple and navel piercings)
4. Keep household and cosmetic products away from the piercing
General rules during primary healing:- Do not sleep on the piercing
- Do not touch the piercing with your hands (except during cleaning)
- Avoid trauma to the area
- Do not twist or remove the jewelry
- Do not use Chlorhexidine without consulting your artist — it can over-dry the skin
- If you notice any issues or inflammation, do not self-treat — contact us for professional advice
